Remembrance

Every year we drape down our 'sea' of poppies on the rood screen and during the WW1 commemorations we remembered some of the soldiers from Frome in red banners at the chancel gates.

Every year  the people of Frome gather to remember outside the Memorial Theatre War Memorial. In 2020 we weren't able to do that because of the pandemic, so the vicar of St John's during the pandemic, Revd Colin Alsbury, in conjunction with the Royal British Legion, devised a different way for the community of Frome to gather together by asking people to contribute to a virtual Act of Remembrance. Thanks to veterans and serving personnel, individuals and families, schools and organisations each playing their part, a video was produced for Remembrance Sunday 2020.
